A small group of enthusiasts with a common interest in preserving
the sixty six year history of MacBraynes bus services banded together
in 1990. The first AGM was held Ardrishaig in 1991.
The following year Salen on the Isle of Mull was the location,
then Fort William in 1993. Since its formation, The MacBrayne Circle
have held their AGM and Gathering in various locations throughout
the Highlands and Western Isles.
The MacBrayne Circle membership has grown to over one hundred
and can now boast eleven restored buses with other projects
on going. We also collect and preserve other memorabilia relating
to David MacBrayne Ltd. Any offers of such memorabilia are
greatly appreciated in the preservation of the immense contribution
towards passenger, mail and goods transportation throughout
the Western Isles and Highlands of Scotland by this pioneering
Scottish company.
